What is Be Pet Wise?
Be Pet Wise is a free app with plain-English information on caring for pets, pet health and the law, for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, fish, reptiles and horses. PetBot can answer follow-up questions about your own pet.
Which countries does Be Pet Wise cover?
The guides on this site cover the UK, including the differences between England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. In the app you can choose your country so that the Pet Law section shows the rules where you live.
Why does the app ask which type of terrier (or spaniel, lop, parrot) my pet is?
Care, health and even the law can differ a lot within a group of breeds, so if you type a general group such as "terrier", the app asks which one you mean before answering. You can always keep what you typed.
Is Be Pet Wise veterinary advice?
No. It is general information, not veterinary or legal advice. For any concern about your pet's health, speak to a vet, and in an emergency contact a vet straight away.
